Meet your Doula

Raven Manchester

Hello! My name is Raven, and it is lovely to meet you. I am a DONA International trained postpartum doula with a passion for equity & health advocacy, especially as it relates to pregnant people & people with children. Currently, I am a Master’s degree student in the School of Public Health at SUNY Potsdam, where my studies are informed and guided by the principles of harm reduction, health equity, and maternal health. I hold Bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology & Biology. Professionally, I work in the field of public health, doing both community education and direct service for individuals with substance use disorders. Previously, I was an early childhood education teacher for both toddler-aged children (18m-3 years) and a Montessori teacher for preschool-aged children.

I am a mother myself to a wonderful, smart, and amazing toddler. My professional life is important to me, but motherhood is where I truly thrive. In becoming a mother, my passion for birth justice, maternal health, and family resilience was strengthened. My doula practice is committed to equity, LGBTQ+ inclusion, and harm reduction, especially for families navigating neurodivergence for themselves or those they care for.

In my personal life, I enjoy a host of activities such as painting, reading, and traveling. Often, I refer to myself as a chronic life-long student because of my innate love of learning. My partner & I also enjoy attending Renaissance festivals. Thank you for trusting me with your postpartum journey and your family. I look forward to supporting you in this sensitive and transformative journey.
