About Hearth & Feather Postpartum Care

Hearth and Feather Postpartum Care offers soft, judgment-free postpartum services for every kind of family in the tender weeks and months after birth for individuals located in the Mohawk Valley region of New York State. Grounded in health equity, lived experience in PMAD (Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders) and harm reduction, this practice believes that rest, safety, and connection are not luxuries, but birthrights in the fourth trimester.

Accessibility to doula support is something I am a major supporter of. While my services do require monetary compensation at this point in time, if you are experiencing financial barriers please let me know. All cost conversations are shame free and transparent. I offer:

  • Sliding scale fee adjustments

  • Payment arrangements to assist with affordability.

  • Education on insurance re-imbursement & resources that may help you pay for the costs of doula services.

It is my hope to expand my practice to offer no-cost postpartum care to families in need in the near future. Additionally, I am seeking Medicaid provider status. Please check back later or sign up for my newsletter for program developments.

Who Hearth And Feather Postpartum Care Serves

My practice welcomes anyone who is caring for a newborn all the way up to a year postpartum. I welcome queer, trans, nonbinary, poly, single, and blended families. My services are also inclusive to individuals and families who are fostering or adopting. While I wish I could connect with everyone, my service capacity is limited to those seeking postpartum doula services in the Mohawk Valley area of New York State.

Additionally, knowing mental health is not linear, I also welcome people navigating neurodivergence, people in recovery and people who use substances that are seeking postpartum doula care. I provide special attention to and design care for people who have experienced medical, racial, gender-based, or carceral trauma and need support that honors their boundaries, autonomy, and lived expertise. For individuals navigating infant loss, miscarriage and abortion, please don’t hesitate to contact me, I can help connect you to a doula that specializes in this type of care.

 Beliefs & Values

  • Support centers on calm, practical help at home, gentle education, and deep listening rather than one “right” way to feed, parent, or heal. Each visit focuses on what feels most possible for that day. Whether that is rest, feeding support, emotional processing, safety planning, or navigating systems. I strive to provide an environment where families can move at their own pace.

  • Families are met exactly where they are, including those navigating substance use, mental health conditions, or complex family dynamics. Instead of ultimatums or “one right way,” care focuses on practical safety, informed options, and deep respect for each person’s choices and survival strategies.

  • All support is grounded in safety, trust, and choice, recognizing that many parents have survived medical, racial, gender-based, or carceral trauma. Every visit includes clear communication, consent before touch or sensitive topics, and ongoing check-ins so families can set the pace and protect their own boundaries.

  • I am committed to anti-racist, queer and trans affirming care that honors all family constellations, genders, bodies, and paths to parenthood. Language, resources, and support are intentionally inclusive of LGBTQ+ families, solo and poly parents, disabled parents, and parents of color, with an eye toward reducing the inequities that shape postpartum health.
